Tiger

Tiger Cubs and Parents,

Well we’re on the home stretch – almost done with the Scout Year!  In this month of May we are going to work on our final den activity and also we’ll work on our Leave No Trace Awareness Award.  May is the month when we talk about how important it is to take care of our environment and leave it as good, or better, than we found it.  On our meeting on the 7th of May – we’ll discuss the leave no trace ethic and we’ll talk about hiking.

On the den meeting on the 21st we’ll do our final den activity – our Go See It is a Hike with Our Den.  We will meet at Balls Bluff Battlefield Park and take a hike there.  We are going to have a special guest who is going to guide our hike and tell us about the history of the area and what happened at the battlefield in 1861.

Remember our Pack spring camping trip in on the 30th of May at Bears Den Park.  It should be a great time of the year to camp.  For those who haven’t been to that park before, it has a great hiking trail and spectacular mountain views.  It should be a great trip.  I look forward to seeing everybody there.

Also,  if you have any belt loops that you’ve completed, please let me know so we can award them on our final meeting, the crossover, on the 4th of June.  Thanks for your participation and parents thanks for all your help with the boys.

Yours in Scouting,

Greg Johnson
